Welcome to Notre Dame School

Thanksgiving is a time to be grateful for our many blessings.  Our student council is running a food drive for the
St. Bridget/Our Lady of Hope Food Pantry.   Below please find the items that are needed:

N-PK           paper goods—napkins, plates cups

K                 cake mixes

1-2              crackers/cookies

3-4              stuffing mix, canned gravy

5-6              boxed potatoes/rice/noodles

7-8              canned vegetables

Unfortunately, most supermarkets no longer give turkey coupons which were very helpful this time of year.  Therefore, in addition to the above list, a donation of $1.00 or $2.00 will enable us to purchase grocery scrip gift cards.  These gift cards will be donated along with the food collection.  This would allow the food pantry to buy turkeys for families in need.

Thank you in advance for your generous hearts!

Yearly Planner 2018-2019.pdf

We are in need of lunch volunteers.

Lunch duty is broken down into three sessions, a Fall, Winter and Spring.  You pick the session and the day of the week that works for your schedule.  Lunch duty is from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  You must have all your volunteer paperwork complete as well as a virtus certificate.  If you are interested, please call the office (354-5618) and we are happy to give you more information.  Please keep in mind this does save you $400.00 in tuition.  We are happy to have other adult members of your family volunteer, as well.  The tuition discount will still apply to your family.   (Please note they need to complete the volunteer packet and have a virtus certificate on file with Notre Dame.)

We thank you in advance for your help in this matter and look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks to those families who have been participating in the Box-Tops Program for Education!

Please continue to save and submit the box tops, as they provide us with extra funds.  Additional sheets may be printed from their website--

Notre Dame School is a Catholic elementary school with students from Nursery to Grade 8.  We follow the NYS curriculum in grades PK through 8.  Notre Dame School is accredited by AdvancED.

Here are some things we would like you to know about Notre Dame School…

We pray together each morning as a school community and attend Mass on the First Friday of each month.  Students also attend Mass with their class. We celebrate liturgical seasons in a variety of ways.  During the seasons of Advent and Lent, we begin our week with a special prayer service.  Students in grades Kindergarten through Grade Five participate in the Christmas and Spring Show.  Students in PK-Grade 2 participate in a winter concert.  Students in grades One through Eight may enjoy music lessons and Honor Band through Paul Effman.  In music class, students learn to play the recorder and xylophone, and sing at School Masses. We also have a school choir who sing at prayer services and school masses. Our students are proficient in most aspects of Microsoft Office.  They use a variety of presentation tools including PowerPoint and Prezi, along with Movie Maker.  They build boats, hot air balloons and robotic arms and work with the Cad Pro program to design a better school environment. Our newest initiative for Pre-k-Grade 8 involves the integration of STEM based units.  Our Art teacher includes different artists, cultures and literature into her classes.  Our Physical Education teacher plays all kinds of games, teaches important skills, teaches Health to grades Five through Eight and stresses good sportsmanship. At Notre Dame we create a rich, powerful connection between students and reading by inviting authors to our school. We have 3 book fairs a year. These are family events that support the reading development of children. Our students enjoy a lunch program that features both hot and cold items, along with snacks and drinks.  All students from PK through Grade 8 work on computers and SmartBoards.  Students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 enjoy the annual Notre Dame Picnic, compete at Blue and White events, participate in Liturgies all through the year as Leaders of Song, readers, and altar servers, go on curriculum –related field trips, shop at the Christmas and Spring Boutique and love dress-down days!  We have a full time Art teacher, as well as a full time Technology teacher, Physical Education teacher and librarian. Our  Music teacher is part-time. Students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 have a choice of four languages-Spanish, French, Italian and Latin! We also have a Drama Club for Grades 4-8 that produces an annual theatrical performance. We offer a variety of Enrichment Programs after school during the Spring and Fall, including Chess Club and First Lego League. Morning-Care is available for those students in Nursery and PK, and after-care is available until 6:00 PM from students in PK through Grade 8.  Although our day begins at 8:10, students may be dropped off at 7:45 AM.
Students in grades 4-8 all use Chromebooks throughout the day, while students in grade 3 have iPads

We have many more wonderful events and programs which we would like to share with you, as space does not permit here.  Please call for an appointment and a personal tour as a part of our “Touring Thursdays.”
