READING/ELA/SS~ Our essential question this week is "How do people make government work?" We will be reading expository text and discussing our rights and responsibilities as citizens. Our comprehension strategies this week will include understanding the author's point of view and rereading the text to improve understanding.

GRAMMAR~ We will review singular and plural possessives. 

SPELLING~ Our spelling words this week will contain silent letters. They will be assessed on Friday, January 18. 

MATH~ We will complete chapter 5 our final chapter of multiplication. Our assessment will be Wednesday, January 16. We will begin chapter 6 about understanding division. The children need to continue to memorize the multiplication facts. Please use the flash cards to practice. There are also games to play in the resource section of my webpage.  

RELIGION~ We will continue chapter 4 about the early Church. We will tell the story of Pentecost and that the Church began on Pentecost. 

SOCIAL STUDIES
~The community project is due January 23. 

SCIENCE~ We will be continuing our chapter about life cycles of plants and animals. 

***Our January book order is due Thursday, January 13.
