READING/ELA/SCIENCE~ Our essential question this week is "How can people help animals survive?" We will be reading expository text which gives us facts and information about a topic. Also we will recognize the author's point of view or the reason the author writes. We will also be understanding how suffixes can change a word's meaning.

SPELLING~ Our spelling words will contain three letter blends. They will be assessed on Friday, February 1.

MATH~ We will continue chapter 6 introducing division. We will be using manipulatives to understand dividing a whole into equal groups. The children need to continue to memorize the multiplication facts. Please use the flash cards to practice. There are also games to play in the resource section of my webpage.

RELIGION~ We will complete chapter 4 about the early Church. Our assessment will be Friday, January 25.

SOCIAL STUDIES
~The community project is due January 23. We are going to sing a states and capitals song for the choral assembly during Catholic Schools Week. Please have your child practice the song at home. The link is on my resource page in the social studies section.

SCIENCE~ Our assessment on the life cycle of plants will be Wednesday, January 23.
