In 2004 the Parish, in compliance with the Diocese began
implementing background checks for all volunteers. We work very hard in
keeping that compliance.
In accordance with directives from the Diocese, these forms must be
signed if one is to continue to volunteer in our Parish. This includes
volunteering in the school in any capacity.
All employees of the Parish, including the school, have undergone this screening in the spring. The background checks are another level of security to help to ensure a
safer environment for our children. In the event that USIS, the company
running the checks, discovers some previous criminal history that would
indicate it would not be appropriate for a person to work where
children are present, the pastor will be notified and he will contact
This affects most of the parents in our school, especially those who
choose option A as a tuition plan. In order to continue to volunteer
within the school community and the parish, it is imperative that these
forms be signed and returned.
