VIRTUS Trainings and the Protection of God's Children

Below you will find some pertinent information related to the VIRTUS trainings that are required of all Volunteers in our School and Parish.  We are hoping that all of our volunteers (and this is needed to have Plan A status) will comply as soon as possible.  You can go to the VIRTUS web site at www.virtus.org and register to take a class anywhere it is offered in our Diocese.  However, Notre Dame will be hosting several training sessions right in our own parish to make it as easy as possible.  Each training session is scheduled for two and one half hours. 

As of September 2008, no family may have Plan A status if they have not completed three things:

The Parish Volunteer Ministry Packet
The Background Check
VIRTUS training  (new requirement as of 2008)

The letter from Father Bill is also below in the event that you did not receive it in the mail. 

It is important that you pre-register for the course online.  That pre-registration, coupled with the sign-in sheets at the class, are the official documentation that you took the training.  The directions are linked for you to follow.
